Circadia’s® SWiCH™
Skin Deep Clinic in Epworth is proud to provide Circadia’s® SWiCH™ Dermal Rejuvenation System—a unique alternative to chemical peels that redefines how we treat age-damaged skin. SWiCH™ takes advantage of the skin’s natural repair mechanism to help restore its optimum appearance without injury. Reverse the signs of aging today and SWiCH™ on your skin’s ability to repair itself from the inside out.
The Philosophy Behind SWiCH™
For over 40 years, chemical peeling has been used to improve skin conditions such as pigmentation, acne, and ageing. Both intrinsic (internal) and extrinsic (external) aging changes have been the object of many types of skin peeling, including chemical, mechanical, and thermal modalities.
All these methods produce some degree of tissue destruction, which incites the natural repair process within the skin. Consistent damage to the skin, however, may lead to side effects such as skin thinning and photosensitivity. The use of skin peeling, mechanical, and thermal modalities such as microdermabrasion creates a greater demand on energy production. The energy of a cell is important to maintain structural integrity.
With the SWiCH™ System, it aims to achieve repair of the skin without having to induce tissue damage. The body’s repair systems—including that in the skin—are always held in a ready state. Any repair system requires a large input of energy. Biologically, this is in the form of Adenosine Triphosphate (ATP). This energy source is generated by a natural cycle as part of the metabolism of food.
For the SWiCH™ system to be effective:
The active ingredients must penetrate the skin
The repair mechanism must be switched on
The energy must be supplied
The three parts of the SWiCH™ System are: effective penetration, energy generation, and activation of the repair system.
What Are the Active Ingredients Utilised in SWiCH™?
The SWiCH™ utilises Pyruvic Acid and Succinic Acid.
Pyruvate regenerates new cells and maintains the skin. It creates ATP in the energy of the cell, accelerates wound healing, protects against oxidative stress, improves structural integrity, and kicks the collagen-producing fibroblasts into action.
Pyruvate combined with Succinic Acid promotes formation of new collagen and cells.
Together, these acids help with tissue restoration.
Who Is This Treatment Suitable For?
Adults aged 37 and older with aging and hyperpigmentation.
Is There Any Downtime?
This treatment is considered a peel alternative—there is no downtime. Homecare is provided to improve results for a few days after treatment.

How Many Treatments Do I Need?
This can be carried out as a standalone treatment. For those wishing to see significant improvement, SWiCH™ treatments can be carried out once per month for a maximum of 12 months.
Six sessions are the optimum.
As skin regeneration and turnover occurs at a rapid pace following SWiCH™, a mini enzyme exfoliation facial is strongly recommended two weeks after each SWiCH™ treatment.
